About Coach Artem Kotov

Founder & Head Coach — Bachelor's & Master's Degrees in Physical Culture and Sports (Ukraine)

Coach Artem Kotov - Founder and Head Coach of MK Academy

The Coach

From the Ukrainian national team to Singapore's mat.

Artem Kotov's journey in wrestling began in Ukraine, where he earned the title of Master of Sport and became the national champion. A member of the Ukrainian Olympic wrestling team, he competed at the highest level before transitioning into coaching — a path that would take him from Europe to Asia.

His coaching career started with the Ukrainian national team before he joined Great Britain's Olympic coaching staff for the London 2012 Games. From there, he served as Head Coach of the Thailand National Wrestling Team, building their program from the ground up. Most recently, he returned to the Olympic stage as Ukraine's team coach for Paris 2024.

In Singapore, Artem became Head Coach of the Wrestling Federation of Singapore and led the wrestling program at Evolve MMA's elite fight team. He also coached at the National Institute of Physical Education and introduced no-gi jiu-jitsu to the United World College.

Beyond coaching, Artem remains an active competitor. He holds multiple ADCC Open gold medals in no-gi grappling, AJP championship titles in both gi and no-gi, a BJJ brown belt, and a professional MMA record. He was also featured in UWW Asia's “Coach Traveler” television project.

In 2025, he founded Mamba Kotov Academy to bring Olympic-level wrestling and grappling training to Singapore — for athletes of every age and level.
